FDA doubts antibacterial soaps curb germs review to prove safety
After decades of study the FDA says there is no evidence antibacterial chemicals like triclosan better prevent illness than soap and water. The agency will require proof of safety and effectiveness and 2016 reformulation or removal for products not shown to beat plain soap.
