White Americans to be minority by 2050 in Census projections
Census Bureau projections released in Washington update last year’s forecast, pushing the white population minority year from 2042 to 2050 due to slower immigration and a recession. By 2050 the population could total 399 million with whites at 49.9 percent, Blacks 12.2 percent, Hispanics 28 percent, and Asians 6 percent.
