Breast cancer rates drop linked to hormone use decline
A San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium study finds US breast cancer fell more than 7 percent in 2003, largely due to fewer women using menopause hormones after a major federal report. Researchers note older, estrogen sensitive tumors declined most, with about 14,000 fewer cases than expected, while ongoing monitoring avoids overinterpreting a single year.
