Program May Run Out Of Money In Aiken County Indigent Fund
The Aiken County Indigent and Health Care program may exhaust funds by next month without county funds. Commission chairman Dr. Robert Worrell requested 500000 for 1980 81 but got 116000 for six months. The balance is 49000 and will last at most two months per director Pat Tavell. The program pays hospital bills for medically indigent patients. The county council cut the regular 250000 allocation in half to balance the budget and avoid a tax increase.
