Geese and a Duck Turn Town into Business at Renaissance Fairs
Alan Townsend keeps three pet geese and a duck in his home and sells bird diapers as his income. The birds, including Maggie Mimi Buttercup and Cricket, are seen as companions and highly intelligent. The idea began after Townsend rescued a Muscovy Duck in Arizona and, with his wife Nancy, designed diaper wear and joined Renaissance festivals as Mother and Father Goose.
