Five-hour search ends with rescue of deaf elderly man
In New Ellenton on a cold Friday night a 76-year-old deaf and mute man was found near Corinth Baptist Church cemetery after cooperative work by the Aiken Bloodhound Team, Aiken County Sheriff's Office, and SLED. Infrared helicopter helped pinpoint him, and responders aid until EMS arrived at Aiken Regional Medical Center. The man had wandered from a local care home and was located after several hours of searching begun around 7 PM.
