Graham slips in hotel shower fracturing rib and bruising shoulder

New York evangelist Ruy Graham, 77, whose Parkinsons affects balance, fell in his hotel shower on Tuesday causing a fractured rib and a severely bruised right shoulder. Doctors say the fall was not directly related to his Parkinsons disease.

Charges Dropped In School Shooting Case

Federal charges against Floyd Brown were dismissed after his acquittal for the January 1994 Eau Claire High School murder. U.S. Attorney Pete Strom Jr. said the gun-law charges, overturned by the Supreme Court, were dropped following Brown’s murder verdict on October 27. In Conway, two Coastal Carolina staffers received probation for diverting 7000 dollars in state funds to private eateries with cafeteria food and alcohol.

Bell fights life sentence over alleged trial counsel failings

Aiken County man John James Bell now Ragib Omar Abdel Al Mumit seeks post conviction relief claiming ineffective assistance and withheld evidence. He was convicted in 1991 for murdering 2 year old Krystal Scurry and received life plus 30 year terms. Evidence includes photographs by a Public Defender investigator and a wheelchair bound witness, both disputed and not entered. The judge postponed ruling as Bell questioned trial and appeal representation.

An Aiken County Board of Adjustments and Appeals voted 5-1 to uphold a zoning administrator's permit for a 30,000 square foot nuclear laundry near Interstate 20 and US 1. SRS to produce tritium under new defense bill in SC

A compromise defense spending bill allocates more than 250 million for South Carolina, including 134 million for Savannah River Site operations and designation as the new tritium production site. Also funded are 32 million for Fort Jackson barracks, 16.5 million for an Army maintenance complex at Charleston Naval Weapons Station, 15.2 million for a National Guard center in Eastover, and 15 million for bachelor enlisted quarters at Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station.
