A local Christmas merchant has been chosen to portray Santa’s elf on page 2A, joining other holiday features, community events, and festive planning values as the paper highlights seasonal preparations and appearances this season.

Carlisle blaze a wash totals show donations cover costs

Carlisle Tire and Wheel Company fire from November 19 to December 3 totaled costs with a 50,000 dollar donation from the tire maker making the blaze a wash. A 5,000 dollar donation to the Salvation Army aided food for firefighters and emergency workers. Center Fire Department faced the blaze long hours and hose losses while 34 departments and several aid units assisted.
