York County Detention Center officer said he used force to subdue Terr y Eugene McManus after the inmate tried to stab him with a sharpened pencil during an altercation. McManus, jailed on unlawful use of a phone and assault of a high and aggravated nature, suffered a head cut treated at Riverside Medical Clinic in Rock Hill.
