Protester Still in Tree One Year After Luna Climb
Julia Hill, known as Julia Butterfly, has remained stationed 180 feet up a redwood near Stafford California for a year to protest a 490 million state federal deal to buy 10 000 acres from Pacific Lumber Co. Hill seeks Headwaters Forest preservation and vows to stay until she feels she has exhausted all options though approval processes linger and logging could resume if the deal collapses.
