Sub shop foils scammer posing as long distance buyer
Cindy Fauls, owner of Pat's Sub Shop on the Southside, rejects a phoned order for 200 sandwiches totaling about 845 dollars and an additional 1150 dollars to wire via Western Union. The caller claimed to be Lucas Scott from Virginia Beach and used a TDD operator to reach her. Fauls reported the attempt and questioned the process as the operator could not intervene. The probe continues as she referred to the call at length with no payment details written down.
