Burnettown will hold a special election Tuesday December 10 for an unexpired Town Council term. Candidates Winston Clark Sonny Jones and Robert Workman vie for the seat with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 3144 Augusta Road Burnettown Municipal Building.
Crowds lined Laurens Street for a holiday parade as downtown was lively while outside streets resembled a ghost town. Spectators watched friends and church groups roll by, while county residents not in the parade stayed glued to the event.
Bulldozer operator cleared a 10 acre city parcel at the east end of South Boundary Avenue as part of a recovery effort cited by Mayor Paul Parker and Councilman Joe Gleaton.
