Gene therapy shows major leukemia treatment breakthrough
In a landmark advance, researchers report gene therapy turning patient T cells into cancer fighters with high remission rates in ALL and other blood cancers. Six groups treated 120+ patients, including Emily Whitehead, who remains cancer-free years later. Results to be shared at the hematology conference in New Orleans.
