Christmas in the Quarters at Redcliffe Plantation

Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site in Beech Island hosts Christmas in the Quarters, a living history program now in its fifth year. Kitty Wilson-Evans joins as a first person slave character named Kessie, using Governor James Henry Hammond's 1834 Plantation Journal to recreate holiday customs for a one hour session Saturday from 2 to 3 pm. Admission is 4 adults and 2.5 seniors. Redcliffe address is 181 Redcliffe Road, with contact (803) 827-1473.

Jumping Branch Three Day Eventing Show Opens Tomorrow

Jumping Branch Farm at 179 Fox Pond Road in Aiken hosts a three day schooling event starting at 7 30 a m tomorrow with about 120 entries. Owner Jui Zapapas says the popular test ground helps riders and horses move up a level and prepare for spring as volunteers provide essential support.
