Williams and Edwards couples wed at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Finley Sizemore officiating. The bride, daughter of Lyle and Mrs. Edwards of New Ellenton, and the groom, son of Lynwood Williams of New Ellenton, plan to reside in Aiken after a Gatlinburg Tenn honeymoon trip.
Kendrick Haynes and Theresa Bianca Haynes married on Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Jack W. Atkinson officiating. The bride, Angela D. Haynes of New Ellenton, was given in marriage by her father and served with sister as maid of honor. Marvin H. Williams and James F. Flynn acted as best man and groomsman. The reception followed and the couple plans to reside in New Ellenton after the ceremony.
Doris Cannon and Samuel Smith wed Saturday afternoon at Second Baptist Church with Rev. M C Adams and Rev A Ligons Jr officiating. The couple, both Du Pont employees, will reside in Aiken after a New Orleans wedding trip.
Jacqueline Denise Landy and Wayne Hampton Abney were married Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church. Rev. Bob Watkins of Columbia officiated. Bride’s father gave her in marriage. Parents include Arthur P. Landy of Columbia and the late Winnie Abney of Detroit. Siblings and bridesmaids named with several Abney family members listed.
The second annual Christmas at Croft House, hosted by the Aiken Branch of the AAUW, will be at 7 p.m. on York Street. Dr. John Law will narrate the Christmas story as Emily Towler and others perform string and piano music. The couple, now married, left for a Myrtle Beach wedding trip and will live in Columbia. The bride works at Bankers Trust and the groom at V C Summer Nuclear Plant.
Kathryn Mary Schumacher and Thomas Paul Hensler III wed Saturday afternoon with Rev. Sam Miglarese presiding. The bride, daughter of Mrs. Walter Schumacher of Aiken and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Hensler Jr. of Clarkston, exchanged vows as sisters Anne Reichenberg and bridesmaids Carol Schumacher and Brooke Hensler assisted. After a Palmetto Country Club reception, the couple departed for a Brevard trip and will reside in Lithonia. The bride, a College of Charleston graduate, is with W.G. Carroll. the groom, GT graduate in industrial management, is a management consultant with Ernst and Whinney.
Kara Anne Shaw and Jessie James Carter were married on Saturday afternoon with Rev. Tom Turner officiating. The bridegroom, son of Myrtle Rowe Carter and the late Jessie J. Carter, grew up in Johnsonville and works at the Savannah River Plant.
