Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lights up for the holidays
A 76 foot Norway Spruce was lit by Mayor Bloomberg at Rockefeller Center to begin the holiday season. The tree features 45 000 LED lights and a Swarovski star, with performances by music acts and NBC personalities hosting Christmas in Rockefeller Center. The tree travels from Shelton Connecticut and will be displayed until January 7. A member of the crew, James Lovell, was killed in a Bronx derailment on Sunday.
