Suspect Arrested in Seven Bank Robberies Across Carolinas
Jonathan Lee Thompson, 50, was arrested in a Myrtle Beach hotel after a spree that began Sept 23 at a BB T in Wilmington, NC. He allegedly robbed four more banks in October and November, including two in Wilmington and a Wachovia in Florence, SC, with no weapon found. He faced four SC and three NC robbery charges and was held without bond. Thompson previously served federal prison time for a North Carolina bank robbery and may face further charges. authorities said he acted alone.

In Greenwood South Carolina 17 year old Aleisha Wheeler is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 21 year old Matthew Fultz. A judge ordered curfew supervision after Wheeler was released to her mother. Investigators say a magazine release gun trick went wrong leaving a round in the chamber. The bullet struck Fultz in the face as he lay in a back bedroom.
