Aiken man gets 12 years for shooting relative
Dominique Roscelo Johnson, 24, pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature after authorities said he shot a family member in the left hip during a June incident on Pine Street in Aiken. He received 12 years for assault and battery and five years for firearm possession, to run concurrently.

East Aiken finalist for State Reward School of Progress
East Aiken Elementary School of the Arts led by Lisa Fallon is named one of three statewide finalists for a State Department of Education Reward School of Progress. The school, a Title I site with many free or reduced lunch students, receives a $5,000 finalist grant and will attend a February state banquet.
