Education Dept to release school report cards Tuesday
The State Department of Education will formally release the long awaited report cards Tuesday morning. The Aiken Standard will publish them that day. The system rates all South Carolina grades 3-12 schools as Excellent to Unsatisfactory based largely on test results.

Burnettown Author Drafts War Novel Gunns Story

St Nicholas event at Aiken Center for the Arts Tuesday
St Nicholas story to be held at the Aiken Center for the Arts Tuesday at 7 p.m. Father Thomas Moore of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Columbia will portray the saint with bishop vestments in an autobiography style presentation. The event, sponsored by the Aiken Augusta Orthodox Fellowship, aims to educate and entertain both children and adults and allows cameras and photo opportunities.

A Ridge Spring holiday tour features the Jerrold Watson Home, built 1911, with two indoor bathrooms and a power plant. Also on tour are Dr. James Willingham House at 100 Batesburg Road, Memories on Main, and The Rusty Road Deli. Immanuel Lutheran Church at 600 East Main Street, built 1923, houses period pieces and is now a deli and antique shop.
