Amtrak Wins $18 Million Subsidy to Run Through Winter

Santa Claus Parades Set Across Aiken County

Santa will appear in five parades on Saturday in Aiken County with stops at Aiken Midland Valley New Ellenton Jackson and Wagener. Christmas Fund Drive Begins Today in Aiken

Today starts Aiken’s annual Christmas charity and winter relief program with daily lists of contributors in the Aiken Standard. Salvation Army applications open for inclusion in the food and toy charity for needy families. Salvation Army kettles appear in shopping areas and will stay through the season with Jaycees and civic groups staffing them. The Salvation Army has budgeted $10,500 for the effort.
