Aiken woman charged with 31 counts of prescription drug fraud
Melenia Danielle Bohm, 39, of Outing Club Road, faces 31 counts of obtaining prescription drugs by fraud after police say she used the same physician and nurse to call in tramadol prescriptions for her husband, son, and mother in law. The Aug. 23 incident at Wal Mart on Richland Avenue spurred the case, with evidence she targeted pharmacies in Aiken County and Augusta. Bohm is jailed in the Aiken County detention center. bond details were not released.

Safety checkpoint set for today in Aiken County
Aiken County hosts a safety checkpoint at 8 p.m. on U.S.25 near the Georgia line as part of Hands Across the Border and the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Troopers from South Carolina and partner agencies will check IDs, target impaired driving, and verify seat belt use during the multi state effort.
