Guy Lipscomb will judge the Chil dren's Exhibit and the Aiken Artist Guild Fall Show at the Aiken County Arts Festival on Oct. 23. He is a South Carolina watercolor artist with 28 one man shows and numerous museum roles and affiliations.
All public and private school students in Aiken County may submit two dimensional works for the Aiken County Arts Festival judging by Guy Lipscomb on Saturday Oct 23. 100 pieces will be displayed Oct 23–30 at Municipal Auditorium with four grade groups and 1st 2nd 3rd place awards.
Staff Sgt Rex I Bell son of Ira Bell of North Augusta participated in Air Force SAC Global Shield 82 at Andersen AFB Guam as a disaster preparedness technician with the 43rd Combat Support Group. Navy EM3 Wendell A Spivey son of Wendell and Carolyn Spivey North Augusta completed Basic EM course at Great Lakes after instruction in electrical theory and shipboard systems. Eubanks at Fort Bragg ROTC Advanced Camp studied leadership and tactics while a Citadel student. Tammy S Skuce daughter of Albert and Helen Skuce completed basic training at Fort Jackson with drill, weapons, map reading and military etiquette.
The Town and Country Club opens its 31st year with a 10 a.m. meeting at Fermata Club and a preview of hobbies including a square dance led by Doug Jernigan. The Aiken Choral Society begins fall rehearsals Sept 7 at 7:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church with auditions by Antoine Cordahi.
A free Aerobic Dancing demonstration is set at Sunset Skating Rink on Wednesday at 5 45 PM as part of Family and Friends Night. All are invited and for more details call 278 4070.
