City eyes public private deal for old Aiken hospital
Aiken City Council opened talks on a potential partnership to redevelop the vacant old Aiken County hospital property at 828 Richland Ave W. WTC Investments proposes a $45 million investment and a $240 million 20 year economic impact, planning to demolish the hospital and build a hotel and conference center with 190 plus apartments. The plan depends on county involvement and council will likely place the agreement memo on the September agenda.
