The Aiken Electric Cooperative hosts an open house with at least six Aiken County appraisers to explain property tax reassessment. Attendees may ask general questions about the process and documents to aid an appeal, with later access to the County Administrative Committee and a brief County Council meeting.
Residents are invited to three open houses today at Aiken Electric Cooperative from 1 to 5 30 p m to learn about the tax reassessment. Aiken County Council holds a meeting at 6 p m followed by an Administrative Committee session at 6 30 p m.

Rick Doran spoke to Aiken Rotary about Sept 11 when 13 firefighters commandeered a bus to reach the World Trade Center. A tollbooth guard delayed them five minutes, saving lives as the second tower fell. Doran, a Rescue Company 4 member, later helped place the first U.S. flag at the site.
