Student Charged In Razor Slashing
In Conway AP report a 12 year old girl is hospitalized after being slashed with a razor found on school steps at Loris Middle School. A 1¢-year old boy is expelled and held in a juvenile detention center awaiting trial on assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and carrying an illegal weapon on school property. The victim required over 200 stitches, wears a half cast and uses crutches.

Go-Cart Accident Fatal To Girl, 8
An 8 year old girl, Kameka Oni Fogle, died and her father, Edward Junior Fogle, 88, was badly hurt when a go cart with no lights was struck by a truck on a highway near Holly Hill. The cart veered into the road as Daniel Smith, 34, of Harleyville, tried to pass the vehicle.

Spent Fuel Due At SRS This Week
The first of many radioactive spent fuel shipments from Europe is due through South Carolina this week, despite protests by Gov. Carroll Campbell. The fuel, to be stored at Savannah River Site near Aiken, could total about 15,000 elements over 10 to 15 years if policy continues. Routes go from Sunny Point, N.C. through Dillon, Florence, and U.S. 52 to SRS with security by Edlo International and state and highway patrol agencies.
