Navy Sinks Torpedo Boats Off Haiphong Sinking Two In Raid

AP reports two North Vietnamese torpedo boats were sunk off Haiphong by two U.S. Navy ships with a Navy plane assistance during a raid by two cruisers and two destroyers. Washington ap The US Postal Service will not boost first class rates now due to attrition of personnel Postmaster General Ted Klassen said an increase of 450 million was considered with 85 percent for salaries But he noted enough employees have quit or retired to make the rise unnecessary He warned a rise next year remains possible as labor talks are set for July and union leaders have proposed raising the minimum first class rate to 10 cents to gain more revenue.
