Final wall down signals end of Laurens Street theater demolition
By Friday afternoon the major demolition on Laurens Street was finished and crews cleaned the storefront area. T&Z Associates tore down the old theater built into Jerome's business to make way for four or five shops and second story apartments. Zipper Robbins of the firm said plans for the new development will be set once the footprint is cleared, with underground parking a possibility. Robbins noted demolition began in April after Masters week to minimize downtown disruption.
