Winthrop group may pay for president search
Winthrop University trustees want the fundraising foundation to pay for a new president search. In 2012 the university paid a Florida firm about $130,000 for the prior search that named Jamie Comstock Williamson, who was fired after a year for nepotism policy violations and rude conduct. The board voted to begin talks with the foundation to fund another search, likely using a different consultant.
