Venables Says Georgia Offense Is Balanced Not One Thing

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables notes Georgia stays balanced on offense and won’t rely on Gurley alone even with Murray gone. He cites a two-back threat with Gurley and Marshall, plus talented freshmen Michel and Chubb, challenging Clemson’s defense Saturday. Georgia’s record shows strong passing efficiency under Bobo, while Gurley and Marshall power the run in recent seasons. Venables warns the trench battle and tackling will decide the game as Georgia aims for balance.

No reason to pity Jim Furyk

Furyk, 44, top American in world rankings, has 16 PGA Tour wins and a major. Since his last win in 2010 he has led finals eight times without closing, including The Barclays where he tied for the lead. He rejects pity, notes Woods set a near-impossible standard, and cites no excuses as fans question his closers’ record.
