German Fans Honor Elvis in Bad Nauheim Tribute

In Bad Nauheim Germany fans and impersonators gathered for a one day festival to honor Elvis Presley thirty five years after his army service in Germany. Visitors traveled from Vienna and other cities to mark the King and the towns rivalry with Friedberg over who hosts the larger tribute. Friedberg plans to rename a square Elvis Presley Place next week.

Rare Black Rhino Calf Born At Riverbanks Zoo

A healthy 77 pound male black rhino calf was born Tuesday at Riverbanks Zoo near Columbia. It joins 69 U S rhinos and will be on exhibit soon. The calf will live at Riverbanks for a year or two before moving to the Los Angeles Zoo.

U.S. to Ship Up to 151 Spent Fuel Rods to Savannah River

The Energy Department plans to move 99 to 151 spent nuclear fuel assemblies by sea and rail to the Savannah River Site this fall, ending South Carolina’s legal fight.
