The week remains mostly fair with mild nights and daytime highs around 90. A few showers are possible toward the weekend, mainly along the coast, while inland areas stay largely dry with similar temperatures.
Mildred P. Lever of Aiken Route 3 died yesterday in an Augusta hospital. Funeral at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church in Augusta at 2 p.m. with Rev. C. E. Dabney and Rev. Lee Buice. Burial at Westover Memorial Park. Lever served with her husband in Georgia Baptist churches and at Center Elementary School later renamed J. D. Lever School where she worked 33 years as secretary. Survivors include her widower, a sister, a brother, and a stepmother. Honorary pallbearers were deacons from Long Creek Baptist Church.
