Four-car collision injures three Aiken County residents
Augusta police report a four-car domino crash on Gordon Highway as Robert Bledsoe of Augusta rear ended Deanna Odom of Lyons causing Odom to hit Josephine Prescott of North Augusta. Prescott Blaxton and Curry were treated and released. Bledsoe charged with DUI and following too closely.

In a separate incident, Appliance Land on West Richland Avenue was found damaged and two GE videocassette recorders valued at $900 stolen. New Ellenton will hold an election Tuesday to fill an unexpired council seat as Democrat F L Eaves faces Republican Lillian Hammack. Volunteers from county fire departments plan a Labor Day drive to install home smoke detectors.
