Egyptian Islamic authority rejects term Islamic State in QSIS campaign
Cairo reports that Dar el Ifta the top Egyptian religious authority launched an Internet campaign to replace the label Islamic State with al Qaeda Separatists in Iraq and Syria or QSIS. Grand Mufti Shawki Allam warned the group harms Islam and urged foreign media to stop using the term. President Sisi echoed the critique, calling the extremists a plot to undermine Islam and noting their violence misrepresents the faith.
