Family bags 1011 pound Alabama record alligator
In Camden Alabama a family group wrestled a 1011.5 pound alligator for over five hours. Mandy and John Stokes with Kevin Jenkins and relatives hooked the giant in a creek west of Montgomery then killed it with two shotgun shots after a backhoe lifted the weigh currently. The creature measured 15 to 17 feet and set a new state record surpassing the 2011 838 pound prior mark.
