Heat tests endurance at Aiken Soccer Cup tournament
At three Aiken venues players endured extreme heat during the weekend event. Spectators cooled under fans and tents while vendors sold cold drinks and sno cones. Athletic trainer Jennifer London reported only a few heat symptoms among participants as families returned after morning games. Sunday play runs 8 am to 3 pm across Powderhouse, Whitney, and Winthrop Polo Fields.
