Bequest to cut debt nets pennies in time

Uncle Sam will receive about 100000 of a widow’s estate while Kentucky gets 30000 after four year legal fight over inheritance taxes. The agreement splits the funds between the state and the U.S. Bureau of Public Debt as the national debt stands at about 2.5 trillion and grows roughly 100000 every 21 seconds.

Reagan To Sign Trade Bill Amid Criticism

SANTA BARBARA Calif The White House says President Reagan will sign the trade bill today before 1000 plus on a Long Beach pier chosen for its overseas trade role. Long Beach port shipped 60.6 million metric tons last year, the most on the West Coast. Boyd Bentsen said the administration resisted the plan, calling it protectionist in parts, while Reagan had vetoed it earlier over 60 day employee notice provisions and other features.

Number Of Students Expected To Increase In Aiken County

Aiken County schools reported 22 009 students on the first day of school with many more anticipated after Labor Day as family vacations delay arrival. Superintendent Dr Joseph Brooks noted three year growth of 200 300 students annually.
