Public schools open for about 24 000 students in Ai ken County
About 24 000 children and teenagers returned to Ai ken County public schools Monday. Parents described mixed reactions from reluctant goodbyes to humorous moments. At Oakwood Windsor Elementary a fourth grader resisted a kiss and a goodbye gesture while Wanda Goodwin said farewell to her granddaughters Cashmere Blu and Ali, adopted from China. Debra McCord, principal at Oakwood Windsor Elementary, spoke with Destiny Main entering fifth grade.
