Moonshine raid cleanup by Aiken County sheriffs dept
Federal agents blew four large moonshine stills and seized 700 gallons of untaxed liquor after yesterday raid. Aiken County men James Settles Everette Dorch Earl Clark and Ronald Horne Jr. were arrested for manufacturing and possession. Stills near the county line capable of producing 2 000 gallons weekly. Sheriff Carrol Heath said 18 months of joint ATF work preceded the operation.

Equipment Chemical Blamed for SRP Explosion
An eight person team found the July explosion at the Savannah River Plant stemmed from a defective equipment tube and residual sodium hydroxide from a prior smelting step.
