Kiwi Fruit Nursery Dedicated near Charleston Sparks Hope
About 200 farmers attended the dedication of South Carolina's first kiwi fruit nursery, a 10 acre site 15 miles north of Charleston with 160,000 plants. Hortex U.S.A. invested $1 million, while state agriculture commissioner Les Tindal said kiwifruit offers high income potential and regional markets, despite high initial costs.
