Connecticut man cleared after DNA disproves crimes
Kenneth Ireland of Wallingford had murder and rape charges dismissed after two decades in prison. DNA testing showed he could not have committed the 1986 rape and murder of Barbara Pelkey, whose nude body was found at her Wallingford plant. Ireland was released Aug. 5 after a new trial was granted by Judge Richard Damiani.
