Miners Lost Hope as Crandall Canyon Rescue Fails
Officials said air quality from a fourth bore at Crandall Canyon Mine could not sustain life and the six miners may not be found. Rescue teams, aided by experts from MSHA NIOSH WVU and private firms, studied maps and planned safer underground access after a fatal bump.
