Investigator honors United Way with $1500 donation
Aiken County Sheriff Office Investigator Lynn Ghant received the Award of Merit from the IAATI and AGC A at a Friday ceremony. Ghant chose United Way of Aiken County to receive the $1500 gift, recognizing his work with Midlands detectives that led to recovering 70 plus stolen vehicles and trailers worth about $1.6 million from a March compound off U.S. Highway 1. Sheriff Hunt and Lt. Frank noted the case as the area’s largest ever equipment recovery. Dee Stanford of United Way expressed gratitude amid concerns a Savannah River Site layoffs could dampen the annual drive.
