Library funding partnership proposed in Aiken County
A proposed public private partnership could generate up to 3 million dollars to fund a major renovation of the Aiken County Public Library on Chester Feld Street South. Friends of the Library would match 1 for every 2 from CPST and may invest up to 1 million if the county contributes 2.4 million. The plan aims to modernize the 1990 facility, starting with safer front steps and handicap accessible rear entrance, with phases to upgrade floors and facilities. The proposal is discussed with County Council Chair Gary Bunker and Friends President Bill Reynolds, who cites a Shirley Struthers bequest supporting the effort.
