Judge Delays Nixon Subpoena Ruling in Marijuana Case
In Miami a federal judge reserved ruling until next week on quashing a subpoena for former President Nixon in the trial of five men charged with conspiring to import marijuana. Judge Fay postponed action as the government builds its case. Nixon’s attorney said testimony would be provided only if a critical need is shown. The defendants allege a White House operation was involved. They were indicted in November 1975, about 15 months after Nixon left office.
