Judge sets arguments on Charleston cruise case

Federal Judge Richard Gergel will hear arguments on Sept. 12 over a $35 million Charleston cruise terminal permit. Environmental and neighborhood groups accuse the U S Army Corps of Engineers of insufficient environmental and historic district review before allowing pilings for the Port Authority project transforming an old warehouse into a cruise terminal. Plaintiffs seek to void the permit and halt construction pending further studies.
