Trial Delay in Hill Capital Murder Case

Accused mass killer David Mark Hill's capital punishment trial, set for September 11, is postponed at least a month. Circuit Judge Marc Westbrook cited difficulties in collecting juror information and the need to review questionnaires from a pool of more than 300 potential jurors for the DSS satellite office shootings in North Augusta that killed three workers and left a fourth wounded.

Aiken voters vote in smooth special primary in HD 81

Elections director Stuart Bedenbaugh said voting started smoothly with no problems reported and about 200 absentee ballots received. About 15 percent of 20,500 registered voters were expected to cast ballots, polls closed at 7 pm, results to be announced at the Aiken County Council meeting room.
