Barry Buchanan owner of Midas Auto Systems Experts buys the former Jiffy Lube at 3558 Richland Ave and opens Midas Car Care Express as the nation’s first standalone quick change maintenance site offering oil changes filters fuel injection cleaning cooling system flush and fill and more. The shop operates two bays with four car capacity and runs 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday.

Walker first woman chosen for cardiothoracic fellowship at MGH
Dr. Jennifer Dale Walker has been accepted into the Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston becoming the hospital’s first female fellow. She serves as Administrative Chief Surgical Resident at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and is the daughter of Thomas C. and the late Mrs. Walker of Aiken. The fellowship starts in July next year.
