Oremus Wins South Carolina House District 84 Runoff
Calissa Oremus, a Republican and small business owner, won the SC House District 84 runoff on Tuesday night with about 58 percent of the vote, defeating Alvin Padgett who had roughly 44 percent. The district is safely Republican, centered in Aiken County and extends beyond the Savannah River Site. District 84 was vacated after the death of Ronnie Young, a longtime leader in the area, with the party hopefuls focusing on conservative policy themes and party loyalty.
