Fossil shows plesiosaur gave birth not eggs
The 15 foot long plesiosaur fossil from Kansas reveals a fetus inside an adult, dated to 72 to 78 million years ago. Researchers F Robin O Keefe and Luis Chiappe uncovered the bones at Marshall University and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Geology professor Judy A Massare notes it is the first live birth evidence in plesiosaurs.
