Heavy Rain Causes Problems Across Aiken County
Rainy weather created slick roads and poor driving conditions as more than two inches of rain fell. The S C Highway Patrol logged 31 accidents since Thursday in Aiken County. Aiken Electric Cooperative reported a 45 to 50 minute power outage in College Acres triggered by high water and a faulty insulator. A snapped power pole on Old Wagoner Road near East Aiken Elementary was blamed on a vehicle impact, with no outages from the crash. Forecasters warned of continued showers, with a 70 percent chance today and a 50 percent chance tonight.
